2008 Alfa Romeo National Convention

Tech Sessions

Does your Spica have a cold? Are your suspension joints arthritic? Have your springs sprung? Is your Bertone no longer a sight for sore eyes? Are you tired of being whipped by a rice grinder? Perhaps there is hope for reconciliation by attending one of the convention tech sessions.

We have assembled a range of experts to satisfy almost any interest. The sessions will take place between 1:30 and 5:00 PM on Friday, with the afternoon divided into three periods of about an hour each. Two sessions will run in parallel in separate rooms during each period. There will also be a Jewelry Workshop and a Newsletter Editors’ meeting during the same timeframe. Chose from the following exciting topics:

WES INGRAM -INGRAM ENTERPRISES. Learn how to speak Spica – and more. Wes Ingram and Herb Sanborn discuss the inner workings of the pump and what goes on during the rebuild. Also, the newest available upgrades for your pump and engines. Your don't have a distributor? Not a problem. How about a distributor-less ignition for your Nord? As always, an open forum and your questions are encouraged.

GREG GORDON-THE HIGH PERFORMANCE STORE. Why not apply new technologies to your classic? Ever wonder what the latest toys might inspire your V6 and its underpinnings to become? Greg has a few suggestions for you! Greg will bring a couple of his creations to view that have been manipulated to be all that they can be!

JIM STECK-AUTOCOMPONENTI. An intimate session with "Bonnie" up close and personal. Don't tell your wife you plan on attending! Jim will share intimate details about Bonnie and those exhilarating moments on the salt flats running in excess of 220mph. Bonnie's previous suitors may join in a panel and share their experiences. Ever wonder why Bonnie did an about turn while exceeding 150mph? Was Mike Besic not in touch with her feelings? With proper counseling will future jaunts be straight and true?

JOE ENGLISH-GROUP 2 MOTORSPORTS. Does your passion require a brake? Other? Chris Berry the shop manager at Group 2 has developed and refined suspension and brake upgrades for the 105/115 series at the famous Nurburgring with his Milano test mule working with Ron Simons who runs the 75 EXPERIENCE there. He will cover alignment specs for various applications, the advantages of a fully adjustable suspensions(coil-overs etc.), spring rates, sway bars, and tire selection relative to specific alignment settings. All that speed and OEM brakes? To bring the session to a halt Chris will also share the technical merits of contemporary brake kits, brake pad bed-in procedures, and pad composition selection. Any questions?

DARON WALKER-VINTAGE CUSTOMS. How about a Bertone makeover? Dr. Daron "Akitaman", from Vintage Customs does marvelous makeovers. He is a sure cure for your Bertone's cancer and poor complexion. There will be tips, techniques and success stories for a total body makeover from the inside out. Dr. Daron has cured the most terminal of cases. Likewise, If you are planning on purchasing a vintage beauty who better than Daron to share his knowledge about what to look for, how to spot problem areas, and the various techniques that can be used to affect a proper restoration.

CONCOURS CLASS. A must for aspiring judges! Session will be conducted by AROC.
