2008 Alfa Romeo National Convention

Concours at Cantigny Park

Saturday the 21st will be “Un Giorno di non Dimenticare”; that’s right, you will not forget the setting for this year’s Concours. This year we will feature and pay homage to the phenomenal work of Franco Scaglione, his designs are timeless and the sight of Giulietta Sprint Coupes and the ever so beautiful Sprint Speciales should be in abundance. Who knows, maybe we can convince those that own a 33 Stradale to come and share them with us. The show will take place in the shady, tree lined lot of Cantigny Park in Wheaton.

Cantigny Park is an easy 14 miles from our convention hotel, and its beautiful setting is sure to attract many interesting and historic Alfas from around the Midwest and beyond. The park offers many attractions for convention goers, whether attending the Concours or just looking for something to do while they are here in Chicago. Formal gardens, an historic military museum, outdoor military vehicle displays, estate tours as well as concessions and dining are just some of the activities waiting to be explored.

Got a little extra time? The park also boasts an award winning 27 hole public golf course with all the amenities. Along with the usual judged classes of Alfas, this year we are also offering a judged, but unofficial class for modified street Alfas that, although beautiful aesthetically or mechanically, may not otherwise win their class due to their non-Alfa alterations. Whether a trailer queen or daily driver, we hope to see your Alfa Romeo in the Convenzione d’Oro Concours at Cantigny.
